A couple of weeks ago, we went to the Spirits of Texas Tasting event in Plano, Texas. We met so many great people representing so many great distilleries. There were so many great flavors and we have spent the time since feverishly baking with the whiskeys and bourbons (and rum) that we tasted there.
We are excited to announce that the first batch of cookies from this event have been officially released. These are cookies from the great folks at Milam & Greene Distillery in Blanco, Texas. This award winning distillery makes excellent bourbons and whiskeys that have excellent flavors when baked in cookies.
The first cookie is an oatmeal raisin cookie with Straight Rye Whiskey from Milam & Greene. This Whiskey is finished in port casks that impart flavors that accent the three different kinds of raisins in the cookies. This is our first oatmeal cookie made with a whiskey and we couldn't be more excited about this.
The second cookie is a bourbon cookie married with our famous chocolate chip cookies. The chocolate and maple flavors of the whiskey are a perfect pairing with the natural flavors of the cookie. Combine that with the aromas of almonds, cherries and vanilla and you have a cookie that is truly second to none.
